VivaMedix MicroSuture Pad — Ophthalmology & Microsurgery Training Pad
Built for microsurgery
Normal suturing pads are made for skin wounds. Ophthalmic work is far smaller. This pad matches it: every wound is cut between 0.3 mm and 1 mm — the real range of corneal, limbal and microvascular repair. Work it under loupes or a microscope with 6-0 to 10-0 suture.
What’s on the working surface
The 5 × 4 cm raised platform takes you from basic to complex:
- Corneal and limbal rings — radial and interrupted corneal suturing, knot burial
- Straight micro-incisions — needle entry, bite depth, tension control
- Oval and elliptical defects — edge apposition
- Wavy and irregular wounds — non-linear wound tracking
- Stellate, Y, V, T and cross lacerations — complex repair and knot sequencing
It stays exactly where you put it
Under magnification, one millimetre of movement ruins the pass. The 2 mm frame around the platform grips the bench on its own. For full stability, push needles through the frame into the surface below — the pad is anchored for the whole session. No clamps, no tape, both hands free.
Sized for your field of view
8.5 × 7.3 cm — the width of a credit card. It fits entirely inside the microscope field. The platform sits 1 cm off the bench, giving your needle holder clearance underneath and keeping your wrist at a natural angle.
Silicone, and reusable
Soft-firm silicone that holds its cut edges through repeated passes. Wounds don’t tear open or widen after a few knots.
The first one made in Egypt
No other microsurgery pad is available on the Egyptian market. Designed and made in-house by VivaMedix — no import wait, no customs, no inflated price.
